so, i just watched it... i got it from the redbox last night cuz they didn't have The Changeling.

it's about this 8 year old boy, Bruno, whose father is a newly promoted officer in Hitler's Third Reich. (sp?) right at the beginning of the movie, they move from their old classic home in the city to a new modern mansion in the country. Bruno discovers a "farm" through his window far away. despite his mother's deterrence, he befriends another 8 year old boy, Schmuel, who is within the "farm."

the movie shows a boy's coming of age and his loss of innocence.

Moment of Silence, please

for Doctor Carson Beckett.
he was a good man. and he went out in the most honorable way possible.
he touched the lives of everyone on/in Atlantis. literally and
figuratively. he will be sorely missed and everyone, i'm sure, will hope
for occasional returns of the beloved doctor.
may his day of rest go on eternally.

also, in other news, congrats to Chloe O'Brian on the news of her pregnancy.
don't think anyone saw that one coming either... lol.

and of course, always glad to see Teal'c and Master Bra'tac doing well.
and glad Sam pulled through and Daniel and Vala each made it back home safely.

didja know they're working on a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 movie? very exciting. just finished reading the book.
could kill Kostos. i'm sure i'm not the only one...

"Cult Fiction"
The Centre.
that was in today's episode. it's the one where Shawn joins this cult and won't let anyone talk him out of it because that's judging! then Turner gets into an accident on his motorcycle and he's in critical condition. Shawn meets everyone at the hospital. with Mr. Mack, the leader of the The Centre.
then Cory and Topanga take him into the room where Turner is and Shawn can't handle it, but they make him stay. Cory gives him a hug.
"Shawn! This is a hug, okay!? This is a hug! And this is when you hug somebody, when you care about them. And when you want them to know that."
Cory and Topanga leave, but they make Shawn stay...
"Jon, how could you be in here? How could you screw up on your bike? I have never seen you screw up on anything. I'm the screw-up, remember? Come on, you remember. Don't do this to me, Jon. I don't do alone real good. (Long pause) Look, I know you're in there, but it's like you're not really here. You're not talking, but I know you're here. So I'm just going to talk, and you can listen. Jon, even when I was at the Centre, it was all the things that you taught me that made me wonder if it was the right place for me or not. But you didn't teach me enough. You… and Cory… and my parents… and the Matthews and the handful of people who really care about me, so don't blow me off, Jon! Don't blow me off God! I've never asked you for anything and I never wanted to come to you like this. But don't take Turner away from me. He's not done yelling at me, yet. God, you're not talking, but I know you're here. So, I'm going to talk and you can listen. God… I don't want to be empty inside anymore. (Holds Turner’s hand. It slowly moves to embrace Shawn’s hand. Shawn smiles)"
then he knows Turner's gonna be okay... and he comes home to the Matthews.

if that's not a salvation prayer, then i don't know what is. i love that they talk about God in this show. not blatantly and stuff, but they don't squirm around Him. He's in the picture. everywhere from here to a Jewish man praying in the neo-natal wing of the hospital to Cory saying his bedtime prayers when Topanga spends the night in his dorm. God's there. and Shawn recognized it. which is why he talked. and i know God listened. He always does.

"Learning to Fly"
this one was a good one too, but for different reasons. this was one of the ones that you rejoiced over a triumph. the main story is that the boys (Eric, Cory, and Shawn) are going to Beach State U. for a trip. they're staying in a sorority house, and Eric's friend's roommate has just been dumped by her bf. then she starts acting all seductive with Cory, but, in the end, he rejects her because "I love my girlfriend." Cory's walking away from a "sure thing" helps Eric to do the same.
he had previously blown his interview with Pennbrook, but he goes back at the end and makes an apparently convincing argument to Dean Bolander regarding his reasons for wanting to go to Pennbrook and wanting his interview. the closing scene is everyone (Matthews family, Shawn, Topanga, Feeny) in the kitchen getting ready to open Eric's letter. he can't do it, so he gets Cory to do it. ultimately, Eric is accepted into Pennbrook (*crowd cheers*) yay!!!!!!
Eric then thanks Mr. Feeny "for everything", to which Mr. Feeny replies, "It's what I do..."

mmmm.... haven't been on here for awhile. oops. lol.

Boy Meets World went from 2:00pm to 1:00pm, and now it's 8:00am. so, i've started getting up at 7:45am to watch it. lol. i love it that much.
nothing overly profound today. other than a reminder that Feeney is human. and that deep down, he does care for Shawn, Corey, and the rest of the bunch more than his other students...

missing Stargate. i really am.
don't like Doctor Who. it's so retarded... and freakishly weird.

friends

sooooo... the first episode of BMW today was the one where they're at freshman orientation. Shawn and Angela end up breaking up (again), and Corey is the only one that knows that Angela still loves Shawn. she hasn't even told Topanga... and Corey does a very good job of keeping it to himself. it's cool that he wants to be friends with Angela so badly. he definitely puts forth the effort.

the second one was the one with that girl that's Morgan's age that is a painter. nothing much there except that Corey calls his dad "average". but in the end, Alan says that his life had meaning when "i first held you in my arms."

mercscilla. i'm listening to an mp3 from her of Stargate Atlantis' Season 1 "Letters from Pegasus". i like this one cuz it's Rainbow Sun Francks doing what he does best. looking cute and being a VeeJay. lol. though, it'd be way better with pictures... but, hey. i take what i can get!

profound moment

we will now take time for a profound moment.

today's episodes were first, the one where Corey goes out with Lauren (the girl he met up at the ski lodge) and discovers that, while he likes her, he can live without her. he *can't* live without Topanga.

the second one was the one set up like a horror spoof. Shawn seems to be more broken up inside about Corey and Topanga breaking up than they are themselves (in fact, Topanga even says so herself.).
while he did say what i was thinking, i'd just like to spend a moment thinking about how hard that must have been for Shawn. like he said, Corey and Topanga were the only constant thing in his life. other than school with Feeny. lol. his mom up and left, and his dad was off chasing her down. he and Angela had take a step down to being "just friends", so i'm sure he thought, "if Corey and Topanga can't stay together, how will *i* be able to stay with one person?" Shawn depends on Corey and Topanga a lot. more than any of them realize, i'm sure. they're like his brother and sister...

i don't know, i just like to think about boy meets world. it's one of those realistic sitcoms. granted, they usually wind everything up within 30 minutes, but still... the people are very believable. the plots can be predictable, but you know why? it's because you and i have done the same thing. sneaking off with the car. oh, he's so grounded. sure enough, "Corey, you're grounded." why? because all of us have done equally stupid things with the same consequences.

it's just one of those shows that you feel like you know the characters. you feel like they're your next door neighbors. they grew up with you; they went through the same hurts and joys, defeats and triumphs that you did...

*that* is Boy Meets World.

SG1 marathon

soooooo...
the marathon ended at 2. i only watched 4 of the eps though. i caught about half of the two head-sucker eps though.
i caught "1969", "Window of Opportunity", and "Moebius, Parts 1 & 2". i didn't get to vote, but i def would have voted for all four of those, so it's all good.

"1969" has this one scene that will never cease to amuse me.
it's the part where they've got Jack in the room questioning him. the guy lights up, Jack coughs. then the guy starts saying his name and why he's there and he asks Jack what his name is. being Jack, he replies with "I'm Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise."
"That's not what your dogtags say."
"They're lying."
lol. that's funny enough, but the best part comes a few minutes later when he says, "ok, i'm gonna tell you the truth. my name isn't James T. Kirk. It's Skywalker. Luke Skywalker."
ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!

even when i know it's coming, it still cracks me up.
i love Jack.
he rules.

TV shows

i just had the most brilliant (and retarded) idea.
i shall use this blog to update on the TV shows i watch. all the groups/communities i've joined have been TV-related, so it makes sense...

so, i'm copying over my Xanga post about TV:

SG1 isn't gonna be renewed by SciFi. the actors are ready for season 11, but for some stupid reason, SciFi's not doing it... they need a new station. hope it's one i have. 200 was entirely amusing. watch it.

Atlantis is on for Season 4.
Wraith apparently can give back the very years they've taken... interesting. you notice Sheppard didn't name this one... lol.
"all bets are off."

4400 is done for this season...
Maia and Ben and Diane are headed to Spain for 6 months.
Shawn and Isabelle are on opposite sides of the wall at a hospital. she's no longer got any promison in her body.
Kyle is *taking* the promison.
stupid Jordan is watching the world get itself into major trouble on TV.
and promison is being passed out freely.
April got some.
oh, and what's-her-name... Alana seems to have been taken again.
uh-oh.
